Is There a Disconnection Between the Music Industry and the Independent Venue Scene?

I think there's clearly a disconnect between, you know, the kind of upper echelons of the music industry and the grassroots independent venue scene. I would suggest tongue-in-cheek that we should have a system where any artist who's done one of those tours of the grassroots venues,. as soon as they get to the O2 arena or Wembley arena, there should be a surcharge of 25, 50p from their profits at those big gigs.
