If you buy a vacation home, make sure it's not too far away from work or school. If the house is more than three hours away, people may be less likely to accept an invitation for a week end. A four-hour trip can also leave little time for socializing with friends and family. The number of people that you can invite will be much more limited if they are closer in age.
