The Enuma Elish
The Enuma Elish tells the story of how heaven and earth were first created. The book is written by a god named Absoo, who killed his wife Tiamat for having noisy offspring. Maduk was given royal robes to rule after killing her but he had to kill her in order to achieve this goal. He then split their bodies into halves so that half could be used to create the heavens.
