The Importance of Experience in Art
When I was 13, we had to read Macbeth and I read it on my own in the summer. And I didn't feel after that studying it gave me anything more. I like to when I go to a museum or a gallery look at something experiencing that and then if I want to just side to then learn about it. At an arts college in Victoria there were no little plaques on the wall. It's just the name. So there was no descriptions of any of the art. Sometimes it was difficult to sit in the art without being told what you meant to think. But then I don't know. I found it extremely enjoyable.
