David was determined to secure his place as the only boy in Betty Lou's life and so one afternoon on their way home from school David asked Betty if she'd like to go on a date with him. To his absolute elation, Betty Lou said yes. They ended up driving over to Lake Herman Road and David's Ramblers station wagon parking it up in quite a well-known spot that was known to many as lovers Lane. At some point during their stay up on lovers Lane David and Betty Lou noticed another car pull into the spot one that parked up alongside them before turning its lights off.
