It's much easier to be in the driver's seat when you have a willing passenger. Discrepancies are common and they're complicated. In the best case scenario, relational self awareness discrepancy is something to be navigated with acceptance and requests for change. The more a partner can be honest about their inexperience, honest about their scepticism, the more it invites their willing, excited partner to be patient and remember that patience is not foolishness.
