Using Old Code to Deploy Databases

The lock would stop the removal just wouldn't happen until the insert happened as well. What I've seen a lot in code is where somebody tries to sort of rename the column or put a note or something that basically says, don't use this column. And then when you finally feel like no one's using the old column, which is also really hard because there could be things deployed using old code that aren't updating every day. This is really tough. We get around this by allowing you to like push these things online but it might still break something.
