When it first started, we sat down and researched the shit out of teeth whitening. The predominant one that continued to stick out to us was hydrogen peroxide and carbon peroxide. So when used in a dentist, there's a gum shield that's applied to prevent that formula from leaking onto the gums. Now when you take that home, you don't have that gum shield. That still can occur and that's where some problems will happen as well. We understood what we wanted, but we didn't understand the chemistry at the time.
