Rishi Sunat's Five Statements of Intent
There seems to be a very active conversation about how government should help with increasing mortgages. I am not clear how he can handle this at all, given that most people don't have a mortgage,. and many people are looking for a place to live at a rent that can afford. If he bails out, why wouldn't other people feel a degree of resentment about that? Because they can't even get on the mortgage ladder, and now is not obviously a good time. What we're circling round is, what is Rishi Sunat for? Why is he prime minister? What is he really trying to achieve? And he could make his mark by being very tough now.
