The Cost of Decoupling

There was a hope that as we become more economical and trade integrated, rivalries will be reduced. We're the first industrial revolution in the 19th century and the first era of globalization in 1817, 1914. People said there cannot be World War I because there is so much trade integration among various great powers. Today we have a great trade integration within China, US, Europe. But these cold wars are getting colder and you cannot totally rule out that eventually there may be military confrontation.
