Are You Moving Away From the Center?

In Matthew 9 verse 9, Jesus tells a man named Matthew to follow him. Hebrew believed that this way of thinking about things is more true to the kind of community Jesus was trying to create. This raises questions of like, who is this guy? Why would Jesus intentionally move towards and bring this guy into the community of disciples? In terms of its social reality, this is messy. But it's clear, who's in and who's out? Do you draw a line around this? I did that at the last time and it was a mess so I'm not going to do it again.
