The Persian Empire and the Elamites
The Persians were the hyper power of their time. They didn't have any co-equals, if you will, at least that were contemporary. So they took what they could, or what they wanted from the Elamite traditions. There's always already been probably two centuries or more worth of acculturation between the Elamites and Iranian peoples.
