The Importance of Inclusion
Inclusion is a sense of uniqueness and belonging, like I can bring what's unique to me. And then that aspect of connection with the people I work with. We don't bring parts of ourselves because we're afraid we might create threat in other people. If you're a black person, you walk into places that are primarily white and you have a sense of like, I have to figure out how to fit in here. People can do whatever they want to make you feel like you belong,. but you can still have a senseof like, I'm visiting someone's home. This is not my home.
