The Chalcedonian definition is a commentary on the creeds that were developed at the council of Chalcedon in October of 451 AD. This creed differs from the Nicene and its specific focus on the Trinity and on the nature of Jesus. Each statement in it countered the claims of Arias, the heretic, that Jesus was created by God. It also refuting two newish heresies.
