How Long Does the President Have to Veto a Bill?
The constitution requires two thirds of each house by the yes annes, which means a roll call vote. If both the house and the senate pass it by two thirds, then it becomes law. The president has ten days to veto legislation if congress is in session. Once they start tinkering, then that they they have essentially started the legislative process back at square one.
