Every person's internal money script is different. If you're making $30,000 a year, 20% of your income or 30% ofyour income is a very different experience than if you're making £700k. That's because of the declining marginal utility of money as you make bigger amounts. And that is a factor that is not included in a one size fits all question of what percentage of my income should I spend on housing.
