The audience here at the hay festival might be wondering why we have a large sack of rice here onstag yet. This isn't some strange rider - it's a way to try and visualize just the diversity of life on earth. There's about 50 grains of rice in a gram. Which means that this ten kilogram bag of rice here contains about half a million grades of rice which is quite handy for us.
