Nassa have proposed a new flat radiation limit for all their astronauts, which would be of around 600 millse verts. This would bring it in line with most of the other major space agencies and make gender less of a factor when deciding who gets to go on missions. Some scientists say that there is actually no evidence for significant gender difference in radiation exposure and the associated risk of cancer.
