The Effect of Slow Motion Perception on Memory
People like me reported that the sensation of time had seemed to proceed more slowly than normal. These reports made it seem possible to me that the brain has a capacity to operate at a higher frame rate. So I scoured the neuroscience literature, but it turned out no one had ever put the question of slow motion perception to the test. It would require placing volunteer subjects in life-threatening situations, which is not a clear path to tenure for an academic.
