AI and the Future of Collective Consciousness
It does feel like what we're trying to do with AI is to create a materialist version of collective consciousness. I find it very compelling because training these things on all the texts that human beings have produced up till this point means that when it does spit words back at us, it is spitting back to us our past. We often look at books as being the voice of one author, but oftentimes books are the result of that individuals bringing together everything around him or her and putting it into writing.
