The Bizarre Properties of a Superfluid

When you cool the liquid helium down to a really, really cold level, this very interesting and bizarre phenomena occurs. And what happens is you see the emergence and the conversion into a superfluid. A superfluid is essentially where all the helium atoms now share a single wave function. It has zero viscosity, meaning that there's no drag or pole or friction among the atoms. This creation of superconductors is highly useful in MRIs because you're able to generate these strong, powerful magnetic fields from this electricity flowing.
