Sally Kohn: Jimmy Carter was the first president to really bring human rights officially into our foreign policy. She says there's been a conflation unfairly that if you stand up for human rights, that's sort of weak. And so I think foundationally, what Carter left is really kind of an important blueprint for how to do this, she says.Kohn: The idea of even having to see the table is only something that's possible when you have the capacity to lobby for an advocate on your behalf.
