Capitalist realism is a pervasive atmosphere which clouds all possible social futures by making post-capitalist or non-capitalist futures seem impossible. Fisher explores this social sense of hopelessness through Alfonso Cuarón's 2006 film Children of Men, and it's the picture of Britain in a world where global invincibility has made the end of the world an inevitability.
