The Question of Catholic National Identity in Ireland
The question of catholic national identity has kind of come back into play in island because we've got this mounting debate on potential reunification of island. There's a sense that Protestants in Northern Ireland would go from a slight majority to an extreme minority in a reunited Ireland so there's this concern of like do we fit in how will we be treated. Even despite the secularization of society even though Catholicism does not play as strong a role in determining government government policies as it used to.
