Queensland's Renewable Energy Zones
Queensland has great wind and solar resources compared to the rest of Australia, really. It's got maybe no better wind than Tasmania, but certainly better solar pretty much than anywhere else. The Queensland Plan requires going from three gigawatts of connected renewable energy in 2022 up towards 25 gigawatts and more by 2035. But what is the capacity in the transmission network at the moment in Queensland to connect? How many megawatts could you connect if the plants were actually under construction right now? And look, the way we've gone about connecting up generators at the moment gives a bit of insight.
