In 2009, Southwest flew 46 airplanes and 59,791 times without performing their federally mandated inspections for fuselage cracks. Almost 60,000 flights took place across the country without any type of mandatory inspection. Do you want to guess how many people were on those planes? A little over 140,000. I just love to hear that an airline put over 100,000 people's lives at risk. Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it?
