Why Napoleon Was a Great Man
I have always regarded, and I suppose been taught to regard, Napoleon as a tyrant whom the British had to repel in the late 18th century. But you don't see him in that way. And I wonder if you can explain for my audience why he wasn't a tyrant or a proto-Hitler or someone who should be shunned. Could not be further from the truth. He was, as Churchill said, somebody, Napoleon was, somebody who unleashed a level of equality that hadn't been seen before.
