Terraforming Planets
Even super duper nano-tech still has heat issues as we've discussed before some little robot like that isn't going to be very durable. As we've noted in discussion of terraforming Mars there's limits to how fast you can even add water by dropping frozen comets on a planet. Such problems might have their own workarounds too. But for the moment at least science tells us that heat removal issue is a serious bottleneck on terraforming planets along with so many other things too. Hence no insta-planet. No insta-habitats either but the parameters involved on something like an O'Neill cylinder or smaller habitat do let them move heat out a lot
