How Does This Interest Rate Rise Affect the Property Market?
The RBA is really walking a tightrope here trying to control inflation without pushing the economy into a recession. Economists believe there's a 70% chance we could pass that tipping point next year. The biggest group that interest rate rise impacts is mortgage holders. In particular, it tends to be first home buyers who when you first get into the market, that's when you borrow the most. They're the ones that bear the brunt of this increase in interest rates.
