Connecting IT and the Business to Build a Center of Excellence

When I was at Yahoo, and this is what really sort of like really nailed this idea in my head. Give them a data set that's as flexible enough where the data model is flexible enough that they can sort of create and answer almost any question that they have. And if they can't answer the question, it's because the data is not there. And so what I found is by doing that, and again, me and IT and working with the business units, they came up with stuff that I could never have imagined in a million years. So to me, that is true self service. Self service isn't forcing your business user to become an IT expert. That's not self
