CHAPTER

The Value of Gold

It reminds me of a Stevie Wonder song where he's reminiscing about his childhood back when I was a nappy headed boy. It's a beautiful song. Now getting back to extrinsic value, why does gold, for example, possess value? And now if we've talked about all these different things that are intrinsically valuable - health, justice, freedom, God, etcetera. Nevertheless, people spend lots of time working for gold, something that's extrinsically valuable. What do I mean by that? Well, it's valuable because it's useful for getting other things of value.
