Mx lost his ability to visualize because of a stroke that happened during his surgery, which damaged parts of his brain. Adam thinks that there might be a genetic component. People with afantasia can have really varied internal not everyone is bothered by it. A lot of them don't even realize they have it until well into their lives.

Close your eyes and try to imagine an apple. Can you see anything? Aphantasia is the inability to see with your mind’s eye. Since it was discovered, scientists have been asking the question: What is the mind’s eye even for?
