The Role of the Journalist in the Public Discourse

I think that there are certain political actors who helped to dictate how the public discourse goes you know particularly around environmental issues energy issues. I don't claim to be any kind of expert in political organizing or you know coalition building or you know any kind of things like that I'm a humble reporter never because I've been doing journalism since I was a teenager. The problem is that those groups on either side tend to have a lot of sway over journalists who just are generalists and don't have a background in these things.
