Christian Nightclubs and the Rise of Homosexuality

Evangelical leaders often equate a disco music and discos themselves with the so-called decline of the American family. Anita Bryant, who ran around the country trying to overturn pro-gay rights laws across the U.S., sent out a newsletter in 1979 warning readers that gays were producing disco records with double meanings. Even disco stars like Donna Summer and Gloria Gaynor, both who will convert to evangelical Christianity later on, urged gays to quote, change their ways.
