The Importance of a Data Driven Approach to Mental Function

The idea is divide behavior into its component parts describe it dimensionally use that to approach neurobiology and then map those neurobiological and behavioral functions on to mental illness. When you're creating these dimensional characterizations of mental function, the hard part is deciding whether working memory should be divided into three different kinds of working memory or seven different kinds.
