The Power of Perception
Coleridge says that only those who have the "sacred power of self intuition" can perceive in a caterpillar its eventual motion toward being a butterfly. So if you can look at a caterpillar and perceive in it, not just the caterpillar, but its eventual motion to be a butterfly, that's the air self forming wings within the skin of the caterpillar. You get at what Coleridge is talking about, that is actually perceiving something. Like I said at the beginning, it's not some other reality that is, quote unquote, elsewhere. It's right there in this reality, in front of you.
