Barbie is so wildly successful as a cultural document because it's just scattershot shooting in all directions. In part the success of barbie points to something that i've been thinking for a while which is that as a popular cause i think climate change is headed for a steep steep fall. Identity is roaring is roaring ahead you just got to do it right identity is a much sexier activist issue than environmentalism.
