The Consequences of Human Motivation

People who give a simplistic account of human motivation have been basing their philosophical theories on a weird picture of humanity. The consequences of this, i think the assumption that people are hedeness leads to some poor policy an poor interactions. What we're talking about is as entirely consistent with evolution, from an evolutionary point of view, ben to care for your offspring. This doesn't mean our love for our children isn't as real as our desire for delicious food or sex, or whatever.
