The Importance of Self-Representation

Jefferson said that all men are created equal, even though this is self evident. He also says there's a natural aristocracy of people who are better at ruling than others. But just because they're better doesn't mean they should rule without our consent he adds. The Declaration of Independence was meant to push back against the crown right.
