Women do this thing where they will subconsciously test you as a man to check that you're strong, confident, and not easily bent out of shape. This comes in the form of small comments and digs at your character, or they might try to put you in the follower position while you're out together.
These are also commonly known as 'frame checks', and they will be particularly prevalent in those first few weeks of dating. The importance of passing these frame checks and retaining the masculine position cannot be overstated, because if you fall for them, she's not going to respect you, and then she'll leave.
