The Role of the Secretary General in the Disqualification of Raoul Gandhi
Lok Sabha Secretary General was hasty in issuing an order to disqualify Raoul Gandhi. He acted post-haste and contrasts this with what has happened in the case of Mommat Fazal, says Ramachandran. Article 102 is clear when it says that per question arises as to disqualification it shall be decided by the President. The Constitution gives no power at all to the Secretary General of the Lok Sabha to disqualify someone. That power rests with the President.
