Build Versus Buy

I think a lot of educators out there that are on the internet, they use a lot of the existing platforms and maybe they're more into building content and whatnot. But for me, another thing that I've always got going in my back of my mind is if I did have to or went down the path of building this myself, would it give me something really interesting to learn and teach other people? Maybe I could just get some teaching platform, but if I built my own, hey, maybe I could use the lessons learned from there to actually create courses or create interviews and things like that.
