The Role of Beta Cell Dysfunction in Type 2 Diabetes

The predominant kind of type 2 diabetes now in certainly Western countries is an insulin resistant to phenotype. And that's because we are sedentary, we're eating too much. The slimmer generally, the leaner and more, I guess healthier a person is, and they have type 2 diabetes, it gives you confidence that person's defect is predominantly in the beta cell. It might be that if you are improving lipid signaling, glucose signaling that we know fibers can do at high amounts, that’s somehow getting to the beta cells and fixing things to them.
