The body addresses bleeding through two interrelated mechanisms, primary hemostasis and coagulation. Primar hemostasis deals with the formation of an initial platelet plug in acute bleeding. This is then followed by coagulation, a complex process by which soluble fabrinagin is converted into strands of insoluble fibrine.
