Google's Geofences in California
In 2018, Google reported it received 982 geofence warrants. In two years, the number of warrants grew by 8% and now a major chunk of data requests from Google about one quarter of them are geofences. Just by its nature, tracking brings up a lot of privacy issues and I don't disagree with them. On hand, you want investigators to have the best tools available to solve cases, but keep it in check. And that's why the courts must determine whether a warrant for the data is justified.
