The Importance of Assessing Your Patient's Hypertension

Asymptomatic hypertension is not something that you need an ALS unit for. Chest pain from a seatbelt in a motor vehicle accident is not an ALS call. If the patient is not showing signs of being hemodynamically unstable, unstable if they're not tachycardic or diphoretic, otherwise poor skin presentation, then you don't need medics on a chest pain. Do a trauma assessment. And if they qualify for transport to a trauma center, then we'll take them there,. but it's there's got to be some other associated symptoms or complaints just besides chest pain.
