What Was Joe Sullivan Charged With and How We Got to This Point?

Uber paid $100,000 to two young hackers who discovered a vulnerability in its system. The company's chief security officer Joe Sullivan was charged with and ultimately convicted of the crime. He had steered them into Uber's bug bounty program which rewards more or less ethical hackers with some money if they discover their vulnerabilities. "I would have some, a number of minor quibbles with the way you laid it out," he said about his conviction.
