Wolves and Wolves in Greek Mythology
Greek mythology is rife with the idea of witchcraft. And perhaps we may even see an example as early as the odyssey and the story of circe. The first creature that we learn of circy transforming, the first one jus mentioned, is a wolf. Perhaps because people are already familiar with the idea that witches will turn people into wolves.
