The Relationship Between Vocabulary and Vocal Language

In ASL, you just use some sort of a hand shape classifier that is being used as a pronoun to refer to something that's already active in the discourse. And then you basically just freely move those things around to indicate somesort of a movement that happens with that one and maybe with respect to some other thing. Any type of infinite number of things that you can do with your hand is basically just a verb in ASL. That's the part that you just cannot capture in writing unless you're going to be drawing a picture. If you imagine fontifying that, it's just impossible.
