By November of last year, the whole lockdown thing had me pretty miserable. So despite it being a terrible time to pack up and move apartments, I decided to look for a new place. After a thorough virtual viewing that took place over FaceTime, I offered to put down a deposit. The landlady said I could move in on the first day of December. But then one night there was a knock at the door - and no one was home.
